Solution for parasite risk management
Digestive health is a key factor in rabbit farming in terms of optimizing technical and economic performance. Among the various parasites encountered on farms, coccidia are the most common and problematic. Present in all farming environments, they spread easily, and their effects depend on their virulence, ranging from subtle, hard-to-detect issues to major economic losses.
The impact of coccidiosis extends beyond health concerns. Even at moderate levels of infestation, it can slow growth, cause diarrhea, reduce feed efficiency, and increase mortality. These issues — whether digestive disorders, reduced performance, or increased veterinary costs — inevitably lead to reduced farm profitability, which can sometimes be very significant.
The challenge is now compounded by stricter regulatory requirements: today just one chemical anticoccidial is still authorized in rabbit feed. It is therefore vital for feed manufacturers, distributors, and farmers to strengthen their prevention strategies and shift toward more sustainable and natural approaches, limiting the use of medicinal substances while maintaining farm performance.
Meeting market expectations requires innovation. We have therefore developed a specific solution which addresses indirect impacts when a farm is dealing with coccidiosis while supporting the rabbits’ digestive health.
Assessed both at an experimental facility and on commercial farms, we observed reduced parasite pressure after using the product without compromising the animals’ growth or feed efficiency. As such, it is a solution that is perfectly suited to farms seeking to limit their use of chemical anticoccidials while ensuring optimal technical and economic performance.
