An in-house R&D program for the ruminant sector

Our solutions for the ruminant sector are based on a robust R&D organization with dedicated resources. Mixscience leverages extensive internal research capabilities to ensure a consistent level of innovation that is scientifically proven and adapted to real-world production conditions.

Our approach closely combines fieldwork with scientific validation. Date and observations collected from feed manufacturers and farms are channelled into a structured research process centered around several levels of assessment.

Dairy cattle at Sourches
  • In vitro tests conducted in laboratories to assess digestibility (screening, benchmarking, optimizing formulations).
  • Experiments carried out in partnership with public and private institutes, as well as universities in France and around the world (USA, Brazil, India, Belgium, the Netherlands).
  • In vivo tests conducted at the MRC (Mixscience Research Centre) research facility, located in Sourches, France. This centre has experimental facilities dedicated to dairy cows and heifers and rearing calves where we carry out digestibility and palatability trials as well as a detailed evaluation of zootechnical responses.
  • Field trials conducted under real-world conditions, in partnership with a network of farmers and manufacturers in France and internationally, to confirm the robustness, reproducibility, and operational value of the solutions.
  • Analysis of the value of forages and raw materials through in vivo and in vitro analyses (8,000 analyses performed annually).

A zootechnical team dedicated to Ruminants

Mixscience draws on cutting-edge zootechnical expertise, supported by a team 100% dedicated to ruminants. This in-depth knowledge of the species — beef cattle, dairy cows, and small ruminants — forms the basis of the nutrition and forage quality preservation solutions we offer to meet the three key objectives of livestock operations: technical and economic performance, decarbonization,animal health and welfare.
