Avril: from mission to action
In May 2021, following a collaborative process that involved employees, the Executive Committee, representatives from the agricultural supply chain, and a stakeholder committee for over three years, Avril defined its mission:“Serving the Earth”. This statement is the result of extensive dialogue and reflection and embodies our vision of a responsible and sustainable company.
Six key commitments
This mission guides all of our strategic priorities and daily actions. It enables us to address the major environmental, social, and economic challenges of today and tomorrow, in alignment with the transitions we are supporting across all areas of our business.
“Serving the Earth” is not just a statement: it is a compass that drives us to innovate, cooperate, and act with high standards to create a more sustainable future.

3 Commitments for Taking concrete action and serving the Earth
Mixscience, an Avril-group company, is fully committed to this initiative and has adopted an ambitious CSR strategy to further its mission: “Innovate in order to create value for its customers and contribute to the development of sustainable livestock farming”. Mixscience continues to implement this company-wide strategy with all its employees and at every level of its operations, integrating the social, ethical, and environmental impact of its products and services into its business practices and the conduct of its own operations.
In 2026, Mixscience is awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal for its CSR performance.
To give full expression to its CSR strategy and its mission “Act to Serve the Earth” , Mixscience follows a roadmap structured around three key commitments, which are broken down into clear objectives and actions:
Work toward environmentally friendly agriculture
Innovate for sustainable livestock farming
Mixscience is accelerating the development of sustainable alternative solutions for livestock farming and transforming its research models. Our goal is to contribute to an integrated approach to animal and human health (One Health), reduce the environmental footprint of livestock farming, and improve animal welfare.
Mixscience is committed to preserving animal health and well‑being
Limit the use of antibiotics with nutritional solutions that help maintain the animals’ health
Reduce the effects of environmental stress factors on animals
Develop precision nutrition programs
Develop in vitro methods, supplemented by modeling, to assess the nutritional value of raw materials
Implement research initiatives in animal welfare

Decarbonize livestock farming, take action for tomorrow
Mixscience supports low-carbon livestock farming through expert guidance and practical solutions designed to accelerate the sector’s transition.
Mixscience is taking action to accelerate the decarbonization of livestock production sectors
Decarbonize supply chains and support customers with life cycle assessment (LCA) method
Reduce methane to cut emissions from ruminants by at least 10%
Develop digital solutions for livestock management
Reduce our direct GHG emissions (Scope 1 & 2) by 30% by 2030
Reduce our indirect GHG emissions (Scope 3) by at least 20% by 2030

Since 2023, our company has voluntarily participated in the EcoVadis program, a global benchmark in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This annual assessment measures the maturity of our CSR approach across four areas:Environment, Social & Human Rights, Ethics, and Responsible Procurement.
In 2026, moving from Bronze to Gold marks an important milestone and reflects the strong acceleration of our CSR practices across the entire company.
With a score of 82/100, we now rank among the top 3% of the 180,000 companies assessed worldwide over the past year.
This recognition highlights our long‑term commitment to driving innovation in animal nutrition and supporting sustainable livestock production. It also reflects the collective, day‑to‑day efforts of our teams to strengthen responsible practices.
